Last Chance to Register for LAVA Mobile event

The final hours to register for the inaugural LAVA Mobile event, Feb 21st at 6:30 PM at the Working Village in Santa Monica are fast approaching.   The event is free to LAVA members and guests, all others will pay $25 to attend.  The event will sell-out and pre-registration is required for everyone attending – no walk ups!

The program:

It almost goes without saying that Mobile is one of the hottest, most interesting areas in business and technology today.  The disintermediation of the carriers, the ascension of companies like Apple and Google in the mobile space, and the maturation of new mobile ecosystems, technologies, and consumer adoption has created a whirlwind of new business and venture activity.  Within this activity we are seeing a plethora of business models: Some that incorporate new concepts like the “check in” and others that build upon traditional models like display advertising.

The specifics:

  • What are some unsolved business problems that mobile might solve?
  • Where in the mobile space are businesses beginning to generate new or incremental revenue?  What are they doing?
  • All our panelists are touching the local SMB space in some way.  What are the problems there, from a service provider and advertiser perspective and how can mobile solutions solve those?
  • What’s missing in the mobile ecosystem that is hindering success for some business models?  Point-of-sale technology for mobile coupon redemption, for instance.
  • What technology is missing?
